WeDo Buddy Bot Picture
Meet Ricky Bobby!
He is useful in the classroom because once you make the kicker that goes along with him, it will allow you to show your students graphing and probability. Through the WeDo robots and software the students can come up with their own names for this little guy and make up a story about him, allowing them to incorporate language arts through this lesson as well.

Chapter One Reflection
Chapter one in our Digital Literacy class was based on the beginning information that we need to be successful and progress in the course. Operating systems and different systems was the majority of the chapter. Computer issues and software and hardware are something I haven't had much experience with. Computers make me nervous as it is. Digital literacy is so important for our students and for us as teachers to understand.

its always a wonder how God works.
Well before we get this long sappy journey of how I came to be here today lets start with... HEY how ya doing ?!
I am in this stage in my life where it feels like there are so many directions to turn and I have NO idea which path to take. Ever had one of those?
This summer ( the summer before my junior year in college, for those of you who don't know). I asked the bussiness manager at the summer camp that I work at if she needed any help running the office this summer, since it is a summer camp, ya know, things get crazy here! We starte talking about how I could help and I got really excited for this awsome oppurtunity that God has set before me! I was talking with Ben and my parents about it one night and decided, what they hay, I'll do it. Even if I don't like it. Its only going to be for the summer and who doesn't need some extra dough during these summer months?!
Well, I go in to my newest job at the business office, expecting to be bored ALL DAY LONG, and from the moment I stepped in to the office. I FELL IN LOVE! I love answering phones (calling people.. totally different story), emailing all day long, and being able to help others out.
My parents always told me to follow my heart and to ALWAYS listen to what God was calling me to do. I fell in love with teaching and felt my calling was there. Now I am wondering... but wait a minute... was there something that God was telling me to do all along and I wasn't listing.
Has anyone else felt like this before?
Till next time love bugs,
Courtney :)

The Charleston Nine
Being the girlfriend of a firefighter/ EMT when a firefighter or EMT looses their life, it kind of shakes my world up. The reality quickly comes flooding back to me saying... holy crap. in an instant I could be the (future wife) girlfriend that is sobbing on the couch right now and thinking how could her life go on?
For those of you who don't know who the Charleston Nine are they are a group who life up to the statement "All Give Some, Some Give All". They died in a fire five years ago today fighting a fire in a furniture warehouse in Charleston, SC.
How would I react if I was the one who saw the car drive up to my house and saw his fire chief and Chaplin get out. In our firefighter "community"when you see an official car pull up to your house you know something has gone bad wrong. I can't imagine have to make nine of those house calls in one day. 9 devastated families. 9 lives gone. 9 groups of friends without a piece of their puzzle.
Today hits the five year anniversary of these 9 families loosing a vital member of their family puzzle. So today, please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers as they go on without a loved one.
Thanks Y'all. Happy Monday!
