The Charleston Nine

Being the girlfriend of a firefighter/ EMT when a firefighter or EMT looses their life, it kind of shakes my world up. The reality quickly comes flooding back to me saying... holy crap. in an instant I could be the (future wife) girlfriend that is sobbing on the couch right now and thinking how could her life go on?
For those of you who don't know who the Charleston Nine are they are a group who life up to the statement "All Give Some, Some Give All". They died in a fire five years ago today fighting a fire in a furniture warehouse in Charleston, SC.
How would I react if I was the one who saw the car drive up to my house and saw his fire chief and Chaplin get out. In our firefighter "community"when you see an official car pull up to your house you know something has gone bad wrong. I can't imagine have to make nine of those house calls in one day. 9 devastated families. 9 lives gone. 9 groups of friends without a piece of their puzzle.
Today hits the five year anniversary of these 9 families loosing a vital member of their family puzzle. So today, please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers as they go on without a loved one.

Thanks Y'all. Happy Monday!
